The Committee of Appeal (CoA)

The Committee of Appeal (CoA) decides on appeals made by Members or individuals against decisions or conduct of the BoD, the members of the BoD, the BoC, the Commissioners, the Reviewer(s), or any other committee, body or person.
Any conflict between a Member and the Agency, whether it is the BoD, the members of the BoD, the BoC, the Commissioners, the Reviewer(s), or any other committee, body or person should first be subjugated to the CoA. Members are not allowed to take further legal steps unless the conflict has been brought for appeal to the CoA, and its decision is available.
The CoA can revoke any decision fully or partly or confirm it.
Its decision should fully respect these Statutes and the Agency’s Bye-Laws.

The CoA is comprised of the President of the Agency (ex-officio), and two members outside the BoD, the BoC, the PoR and the DoA and is appointed by the AGM.
The regular term of appointment lasts for three years.
Members of the CoA are elected or co-opted following the same procedure and rules as those in place for the election of the voting members of the BoD.

The members of the CoA will be elected for the first time by the AGM, May 2019 in Brussels.

ENQA registration process

  • 14/05/2019: ECBE submits the application for EQAR registration
  • 15/04/2019: ENQA and ECBE agree on the full membership time-line; contract is signed
  • 14/01/2019: The General Meetings in Brussels approve the new Statutes
