From academic year 2023-2024 onwards, ECBE will offer institutional accreditation on top of program accreditation
ECBE has launched a new institutional accreditation that can be secured in addition to program accreditation. The new method confirms that the institutional policies, processes, and procedures to support its Higher Education are fit for purpose, comprehensive, and consistently applied. Institutions securing this accreditation have demonstrated that they have appropriate arrangements in place concerning academic governance, learning resources, teaching and assessment, and student support. It, therefore, allows institutions to provide stakeholders with assurance about institutional management and systems and the provider's commitment to quality improvement.
ECBE’s philosophy is that quality begins at the program level. Institutional accreditation is therefore only offered as an addition to program accreditation. You can find out more about accreditation fees here. Institutions must also be members of ECBE to apply for accreditation. More general membership benefits include networking, support, access to member events and publications, free places at the ECBE annual conference and a regular newsletter showcasing international quality assurance developments and member news. Further membership information, including fees, is available here.

We are preparing a new strategy, and we need your help.
We are launching this newsitem in the midst of an exciting new period of development at the agency. The coming months will see us prepare and launch our new strategy and advance a broad programme of work surrounding our brand, value proposition for members and the development of new standards. We are also in the process of refining our programme accreditation process to make it more accessible for member institutions. In the coming months we look forward to sharing more detailed insight into this work.
Central to these developments is the construction and delivery of ECBE’s new strategic plan to cover the period up to and including 2025. With that in mind we have launched a consultation period and are inviting stakeholders to engage with the process. A range of potential themes have been identified and the Board of Directors is eager to hear from member institutions and others about what they believe the organisation’s priorities should be for the next 4 years. The deadline for taking part in the consultation is 16th December 2022.
Take part in the consultation now!
